Everybody's gonna move their feet, everybody's gonna leave their seat

I saw this movie for the first time in a bit last week, and was reminded how fabulous the soundtrack is! Headed over to iTunes and was uber disappointed because they only have part of the album available. Then decided to go to Amazon and check it out. Mostly, also disappointing. Covers for quite a bit, which in and of themselves are not a bad thing, Marilyn Manson does a really good "Highway To Hell" for instance. But no. It missed the mark in so many ways.

I need the real deal. So headed to the reviews and comments...

Detroit Rock City The real soundtrack!

Thanks to a reviewer on Amazon here's the list, cut and pasted, of all the songs played in the movie, and by the original artists. Now I can get to work and fill in the gaps.

"Love Gun" by KISS
"Funk #49" by the James Gang
"Lights Out" by UFO
"Little Willy" by Sweet
"School Days" by the Runaways
"Jailbreak" by Thin Lizzy
"Shout It Out Loud" by KISS
"Frankenstein" by Edgar Winter Group
"The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy
"Rock & Roll All Nite" by KISS
"Iron Man" by Black Sabbath
"Problem Child" by ACDC
"Surrender" by Cheap Trick
"I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones
"Highway to Hell" by ACDC
"Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult
"Fox On the Run" by Sweet
"Strutter" by KISS
"Blitzkrieg Bop" by the Ramones
"Calling Dr. Love" by KISS
"Come Sail Away" by Styx
"Whole Lotta Rosie" by ACDC
"Love Hurts" by Nazareth
"Running With the Devil" by Van Halen
"Detroit Rock City" by KISS

Excellent stuff, really. And the movie is really funny and entertaining whether you're a KISS fan or not. Go Netflix or Blockbuster the DVD sometime.

Done with my rambling. I have a couple of songs to get ripped to the iPod before heading out.
